AAT Accountancy Qualification

The AAT Accounting Qualifications provide practical, internationally recognised finance and accountancy skills that can open doors for you in any industry across the world. AAT’s short qualifications provide a solid foundation in bookkeeping and accounting software, acting as a good starting point if you’re new to these subjects.

AAT is open to everyone - you don’t need previous qualifications or experience. Whether you’re looking for your first job in accountancy, or simply want to enhance your existing accounting skills, AAT will give you the training you need and the qualification to prove it!

We currently offer a Level 1 qualification in Business skills which covers:

  • Opportunity to update CV to reflect who you are
  • Apply for jobs based on CV and how to read a job advert
  • Awareness of UK business sectors and how these are funded
  • Basic maths elements that an employer will need (addition, subtraction, percentages, estimation, mean mode median etc.)
  • Selling and purchasing process (including identifying correct documentation used at each stage)
  • How to record sales and purchases (basic bookkeeping)
  • How to communicate within a workplace (Verbal, use of ICT, body language)
  • Data security to be compliant with GDPR
  • Prioritise and manage time within the workplace

The AAT qualification is available from Resources NE via Traineeship or Adult Education. Courses run in both our Southwick and North Shields centres with a minimum timescale of 3 weeks for AAT only or up to 26 weeks on a Traineeship where you will gain valuable experience with an employer. New courses start each week.
